The Old One cometh

Man knows little about the ancient world his soul is so inextricably entwined with. Incapable of understanding the unfathomable depths and higher spheres of the cosmos around, ignorance is his life.

No wonder then, any individual driven to the unknowable truths must be considered utterly mad by its fellows. For no sane person can hope to lift the forbidden veil, eliciting the Old Ones without a sacrifice of great importance.

This image was heavily inspired by the art of the game Bloodborne, which itself is heavily inspired by the weird fiction of HP Lovecraft and his outworldish stories. For me, something that is unseen is often the most dreadful, horrific or even inspiring. And it is exactly that feeling that I wanted to convey here - make up your own story of what is going on here

Modeling done in Blender, rendered in Vray. A bit of post-production in Photoshop. Textures mostly procedural and made in Substance Designer (even though you probably can't see anything anyway).
