This is a piece for practice, one day I might understand how Subsurf modeling works. Yes, the background is really boring but it's a studio setup - just what I had in mind. Done for practice, you know.

Modeled in Blender, Rendered in Luxrender (testing it out and encountering some minor problems - it's an awesome rendering engine, though, I'll hardly miss Indigo, now that it has gone commercial...and development is great, too!). Rendertime around 12 hours @ 3000x2000, lit by 6 area lamps. Modeling took way too long, as usual.



Feedback is very welcome, if you've got something to say, just do it ;)

By the way...
Anyone knows where the 2501 comes from? Dare to guess? If you know me, guessing (at most!) three times should be enough ;P

Wow, your practice seems to pay off, this piece of work is freaking awesome :)

schaut aus wie ein roboterkopf... oder was ist das sonst.. muss sagen deine 3D bilder werden photgraphien immer ähnlicher...und den hintergrund find ich absolut nicht langweilig... er passt perfekt zum roboterkopf..:)

Man sieht gleich auf den ersten Blick, dass sich dieses Modell von deinen Letzteren unterscheidet! Die Oberflächen, Kanten wirken seeehr realistisch, nur alleine die Kabel/Anschlüsse wirken auf mich noch zu sauber.
Ich glaube, wenn du den Hintergrund stylischer machst, wird das Bild fetziger und bekommt noch mehr Spannung ;) (edit: okay, da ich deinen Kommentar immer zum Schluss lese, ich möcht mich in meinem Urteil net beeinflussen lassen, is okay, is okay *g*)
Das Motiv gefällt mir sehr gut, ein Mechaschädel, er sieht aus, als würde er auch auch abgesteckt noch zu irgendeiner Bluttat mit versteckten Waffen im Stande sein.
Zur Zahl 2501: es hat sicher etwas mit GiS zu tun, oder :P ??

Oi, auf den ersten Blick hab ich geglaubt das ist irgendein Elektrowerkzeug oder so :XD:
Aber es is ein Kopf, oder? Ich bild mir halt ein, Zähne zu sehen :D Der HG gefällt mir. Jede andere Farbe hätt sich mit dem Rot geschlagen ;)
