Description
Another one of my training pieces - trying to learn more about realistic rendering and using Vray properly, especially now that Blender offers a powerful node system to better access Vray's features. I really learned a lot by making this piece.
The inspiration came from a visit to sevilla and spanish / andalucian architecture in general - I love the concept of patios. There is even a contest in may, who has the most beautiful patio in some cities there (e.g. in Cordoba, where everything starts with a parade called the "Battle of the Flowers"). This image comes nowhere near those patios but I tried
Programs used: Blender for the modeling, Vray Standalone for the rendering. Photoshop used only very minimally, this is almost the rendering as it comes out of Vray.
The plants are mostly models found over years on the internet - some are from Evermotion collections that I got some time ago and never really used before. Textures mostly from Cgtextures, some from Arroway collections which are really awesome to work with. I also got Pixplant to make myself some nice tiling textures.
Despite this being kinda "unfinished" (there's still a lot to be improved upon in terms of materials, lighting, etc), I'd still love to hear some of your thoughts. The realism is not quite there yet, so if you have any insights what is missing here...tell me
