Artificium

...there's really not much interesting to say about this one. No story, no background...

While working on a big project (which I'll have to continue now, having finished this piece), I got a bit fed up with it and decided I needed a break. Since I did not want to start another huge thing, I wanted to do something small, quick. This is the outcome - started with some shapes and added some detail.

Of course I wanted to learn something new as well, so I decided to use Indigo as rendering engine here. I can't say I really got the hang of it now but at least I know how to work with it now. Quite an interesting workflow actually, I will surely use it again.
On the modeling side: I wanted to just do random details and fuse them with given, dominating shapes. It's not as detailed as I wanted it to be but I got a bit bored with this as well

Nevertheless, since my last deviation is already more than 4 months old, I felt like I should upload this now. Please enjoy it, even though it surely isn't one of my most astonishing works - it'll have to do for now


Notes: modeling done in Blender, rendering in Indigo using the Blendigo Exporter. Textures selfmade or from cgtextures.com.
Rendering Time: about 6 hours @1000x1500 (about 1500 samples taken).
